There was a convention held at the AFP Theater, and many students came as they were indeed needed there inside, and the convention was establish by the Edukcircle, it was named as the ICCS Convention. So what did I learn from the event? I have learned the ethics of Investigative Journalism, there were two speaker infront of us, and it was Mark Salazar and Susan Enriquez from GMA 7. When it started I was amazed because it's not that normal to see a highly respected people infront of us. First part of the program is showing us these 3 documentaries, 1st documentary was a about women losing her child, the title is "Pusod", 2nd documentary was "Dapit Hapon", Dapit Hapon has 3 sector, first one is about making "Kites" next one is "Pukpuk", and the last one was about "Wood Carving". My most favorite is pusod, even if it did not win as 1st or top 1. I love it for 1 reason, the love of a mother to her child or children, while watching, yes i'm making fun of every scene, but deep inside i'm focusing how the story flow and how they interview the mother.
The First Speaker is Love Anover, She show us her amazing documentary when she is just starting in her job, the presentation is about a blessed dentist, He uses plies for pulling off teeth. many of his customers is old people, some of them had difficulty when they are in the process of pulling off their teeth. While watching I am amazed how they create that kind of documentary, it is very hard for only 6 people to do that kind of documentary. Watching her answer many kinds of question like how much budget are they using etc. made me inspired in what i'm doing in my course and studies, because it made me feel like if they can do it, so can I. I also love how she entertain her viewers and listeners. Love is really amazing when it comes to documentary, because she doesn't usually take it easy, she's always at the top when working with her crew.I also learned that when your going to the dentist, Go to a REAL DENTIST, While watching the video it made my muscles hurt a little bit, it also made me close my eyes, I never thought that there's someone out there who actually do that kind of thing.
The thing I learned from Investigative Journalism is that, it is never easy. All I can say is that journalist are very loyal to their work. I have so much respect for them because I learned a thing or two from them, and that is perseverance and just think out of the box. I may not be a journalist when I grow up or when I got a job, but atleast I know how hard that job is and I know how important that job is. The Speech of the last speaker was very moving, She just talk and talk there, and as I listen I was when she said that, "Having this job is never easy, you fall and break. but it doesn't stop there, you will experience many more, but if you Succeed, your a lucky person.". It wasn't the exact speech but it has the same point. I was inspired when I heard that speech, I also think of Ms. A.because for me, from what I see, That's what she's trying to let us understand. When I had the right Job, I will apply what I learn from the ICCS Convention.
